Spruce Street Harbor Park contains a beer garden, food stands, carnival games, and hammocks to lounge in. It commemorated the spot where William Penn landed in 1682. Penn’s Landing is a waterfront area that is a great place to chill or partake in one of the many activities. The bottom floor of the museum contains two rotating exhibits, which are always worth checking out as well. Visitors should also stop by the Signers Hall where you can see 42 life size replicas of the signers of the Constitution. Make sure not to miss the show “Freedom Rising.” This muti-media exhibit covers the establishment of the Constitution. It contains several permanent and rotating exhibits. Through interactive exhibits, visitors learn about how the Constitution came to be and how it continued to influence the United States since its adoption. This museum that opened in 2003 is all about the Constitution of the United States. The National Constitution Center is another great cheap thing to do in Philadelphia. It is one of my favorite National Park Sites I have ever visited and a must visit place for literature lovers. Make sure to pay attention to the operating times as the site is not open every day. This house was once the home of author Edgar Allen Poe and is most likely where he wrote “The Tell-Tale Heart.” On your visit, you can enjoy a guided tour of the house, and admission is free.
